ARTIST STATEMENT

As I work with the pure pigments of pastel, I strive to capture and enhance light, texture, and color by continuously reinventing my methods in order to create a painting where even the smallest details are brought to life. I constantly explore the world around me and challenge myself to capture what I see into art that  conveys tranquility and peace to the viewers. The majority of my paintings are landscapes (both plein air and in studio) and animal portraiture. I hope to inspire those who see my work to look more closely at the stunning world in which they live and discover the beauty in unusual places all around us.
